Trusting Atoms: the Last Trials of Ludwig Boltzmann, a science play

Trusting Atoms: the Last Trials of Ludwig Boltzmann, a science play written by Rowena Fletcher-Wood is being performed at the University of Birmingham in the historic Cadbury Room of the Chaplaincy.

The play brings to life the passion, drama and suffering of one perhaps long-forgotten scientist of the 19th Century. Join Ludwig Boltzmann in his battle to save the dying theory of atoms, his equation and so his career. In a hostile scientific environment, we are faced with new questions about the roles of scientific fashions, mental health and women in science. Can he make it to the end of the performance? You will have to watch the play to find out.
