Nominations now open until 18.00 GMT on 30 January 2017 for the Royal Society’ medals and awards, including the Michael Faraday Prize and Lecture awarded annually to the scientist or engineer whose expertise in communicating scientific ideas in lay terms is exemplary. Normally, preference will be given to a practising scientist or engineer, but other individuals whose primary expertise is in writing, broadcasting or other relevant forms of communication may also be considered.
The majority of nominations for the Royal Society’s medals and awards can be made using the online nomination system. The Rosalind Franklin Award and Lecture and Royal Society Africa Prize are processed seperately.
