Think Corner: Tree of Life

Over the 3 weeks when our pop-up science shop was open, we wanted to create a Tree of Life showing as many species as possible – and we wanted you to help. Alice Roberts sketched out the shape of the Tree of Life in Think Corner, and then it was populated with organisms – and that’s where you came in. The general public picked an animal and drew it on one of the postcards provided, working from the Wildscreen ARKive project – an online record of life on earth, compiled from the work of some of the world’s best film-makers and photographers. So – we helped you browse ARKive to find an animal you wanted to draw, gave you the tools to draw it, and helped you stick it in its place on the Tree. We photographed the Tree and provided visual updates while Think Corner was open.
