Each year one of the postgraduates on our Postgraduate Certificate of Advanced Research Methods (PGCARMs) module wins the Alice Roberts’ Award for Excellence in Public Engagement.
2021 Winner
The winner of the Alice Roberts PGR award for 2021 is Laura Harford, a PhD student in the Centre for Liver and Gastrointestinal Research for her project ‘How well do you know your Liver’
The PGCARMs students completing the module in 2020 were originally developing an in person events but during the module, like many others across the University, had to switch to online.
Our winner did a fantastic job at translating their aims and objectives to a new format and as part of their project they developed an animated infographic, an at home experiment and an interactive quiz. These were all shared successfully via social media platforms.
