With a myriad of different approaches to public engagement to choose from, it can be overwhelming to decide what to do and how to go about it. Here you can find a range of inspirational examples of PER projects that have been carried out at the University of Birmingham.

We’ve divided the examples into three types: Opinion Pieces – blog posts written by researchers and students; Perspectives – blog reflections from the PER Team on the world of engagement and Case Studies – event or activity based examples.

We also strongly advise taking a look at guidance from the National Coordinating Centre for Public Engagement (NCCPE) for help with engagement planning, choosing a method and for further examples.

Don’t forget! We love receiving public engagement case studies and opinion pieces from UoB researchers. If you’d like to contribute please let us know. Don’t forget we run awards to recognize excellent public engagement. Find out more here.
