Data collection

A recent development at Thinktank has been to work with the School of Psychology towards collecting data for childhood development studies. With young children, experiments cannot last too long and families find this short duration a barrier to travelling to the Baby Lab. Researchers now come to Thinktank where there are lots of families with young children and either recruit onsite through a ‘Meet the Expert’ event or arrange for families to visit in advance. Researchers benefit from collecting large volumes of data, and the visitors benefit by contributing towards scientific research and engaging with scientists within the context of a family day out to Thinktank. Thinktank also benefits by developing stronger relationships with both the University and visitors, whilst also facilitating current research.
