A Bigger Picture

Lunchtime talks and discussion about discovering new perspectives on research, forming new collaborations, and communicating with wider audiences.

A Bigger Picture is open to all University of Birmingham research staff and research students. Professional services staff from UoB are also welcome to attend. Cross-College attendance is welcomed at all events.

Wednesday 7th June in the College of Life & Environmental Sciences

Introduced by Alice Roberts, Professor of Public Engagement with Research and with the participation of Professor Myra Nimmo, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Head of the College of Life & Environmental Sciences.

LES ‘Leading to Engage’ public engagement champions, Dr Iseult Lynch and Dr Carl Stevenson will also be present at the event.They will be hosting the first LES Public Engagement with Research Forum [2-3pm] directly afterwards and you are welcome and encouraged to stay for this.This forum is envisoned as a semi-regular meeting for those in LES interested in public engagement to get peer support and plan future actions which might benefit from wider discussion and collaboration. Iseult and Carl can then feed key discussion points raised into the University’s Public Engagement with Research Committee (chaired by Professors Alice Roberts and Ian Grosvenor) which meets quarterly.

Time: 13:00-14:00 [with the LES public engagement forum taking place directly afterwards at 2-3pm]

A Bigger Picture [1-2pm] is open to all University of Birmingham research staff and research students. Professional services staff from UoB are also welcome to attend.
