Are you seeking to engage with people in new and creative ways? Have you tried using live visual recording as a research method?
This series of mini workshops is aimed at established as well as early career researchers who are interested in undertaking/ commissioning visual research methods. Sessions will provide a practical and thought provoking introduction to graphic facilitation, graphic recording and sketchnoting, including a consideration of ethical issues.
Given that these approaches are largely about listening, facilitation and research skills, everyone is welcome, including those who currently have little faith in their ability to draw.
Come along prepared to hand draw and hand write, make mistakes and have some fun!
Pen Mendonça has twenty years experience as an independent graphic facilitator, sketchnoter and cartoonist, working across the UK public and voluntary sectors. Her practice-based PhD considers ‘Values-Based Cartooning’ as a research method for accessing and representing diverse experiences of single pregnancy/ early motherhood. Her up and coming book will be published by Jessica Kingsley Publishers. @MendoncaPen
Workshops will be held in Room WG6 Aston Webb B Block on 2nd March, (1 – 4pm) and 6th March (2 – 6pm)
